  • Designed for ages 3-9. All ages welcome! A parent is required to stay.

  • 4-week session price $150/child and $80/siblings
    Or you can pay per day for $45/child and $25/sibling
    Children 2 and under are free.

  • Price Includes: Arts & craft supplies, a daily snack, gardening lesson supplies, weekly printouts,
    AND lesson-based items for your home garden: seed packets, plant starts, seed bombs, bird feeders etc.

  • A make-up rain date will be included for each 4-week session

Each session meets weekly for 4 weeks.

Week 1

PLANTING WHEN IT’S COLD

  • Learn about weather, climate, Hardiness Zones. What are cool season crops? Frost tolerant plants & direct sowing seeds in late winter and early spring.

  • Carrot sticks

  • Create an Earth Day card using natural materials.

  • Direct sow frost tolerant seeds: peas, spinach, arugula, radish

Week 2

ALL ABOUT SOIL

  • How is soil formed? Learn about different types of soil and how to identify them. How different native topsoil is affected by water & how they affect plants. How to amend soils and create soil mixes for ideal gardening

  • Dirt Dessert

  • Painting Terracotta Pots

  • Make a custom soil mix & then plant potato starts.

Week 3

PERENNIAL CROPS

  • What are perennial vs annuals? Learn about planting perennial fruits and veggies that will come back year after year.

  • Strawberries

  • Start perennial herb seeds in pots

  • Plant strawberry plants and add straw, plant asparagus tubers.

Week 4

PROTECTION FROM PESTS

  • Learn about different ways to protect our garden from Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, Groundhogs, and certain Insects

  • Apples

  • Make deer reflectors: String together shiny objects and strands. Implement various pest protection strategies in and around the garden.

  • Plant warm season plant starts
